Sheet Metal
Surface Finishing
Choosing the right surface finish to protect your parts’ surface, durable, and rust-resistant, and improve the appearance of sheet metal parts. At Xinprototype, surface treatments that meet the end-use metal parts’ needs.
As Machined
All Metals
The surface of the sheet metal parts is like the raw material itself. Just cutting or bending with the shape. Suitable for internal or non-cosmetic parts.
Anodizing
Aluminum
Protect the surface, scratch-resistant, and available in multiple colors. Many of consumer electronics and housing sheet metal parts choose anodizing as the surface treatments.
Powder Coating
Aluminum • Steel • Stainless Steel
Popular in industrial enclosures and outdoor equipment due to its durability, wear-resistance, and corrosion-resistance. Regular color black, grey, and white, and available custom colors.
Painting
Steel • Aluminum • Stainless Steel
Support custom color or painting according to your Panton code. Smooth touch and cosmetic appearance. The appearance has matte, semi-gloss, and gloss finish options.
Plating
Steel • Brass • Copper
Steel parts with zinc plating for rust prevention. Most of the time, brass or copper parts will be electroplated with nickel or tin to protect the surface and also maintain the conductivity.
Polishing
Stainless Steel • Aluminum
Creates a mirror-like surface that highlights the quality of your products, making it look precise and luxurious. Parts with high appearance requirements will choose this kind of surface treatment.
Other Available Finishes:
Brushing for directional metallic texture. Clear alodine for corrosion resistance. Sandblasting for silver matte finish. Passivation and black oxide for steel corrosion resistance. Silk screening-printing for logos and label marks. Laser Engraving for permanent markings for logos and labels. If you don’t find the surface in this list, contact us immediately. We provide custom surface treatments as per your requirements.
Sheet Metal Fabrication Solutions
From one-piece prototype to low-volume production, Xinprototype provides multiple processes to fit your project demand at different stages. In here, you’ll find out a reliable partner for custom sheet metal parts.

Laser Cutting
A flat metal sheet has the same thickness and can be cut to any complex contours. No MOQ, no molds. Custom sheet metal components as per your drawings.Suitable for sheet parts with many of holes, irregular edges, or any shapes cut in the same plate.

CNC Bending
Provide the possibility to produce precision metal parts of complex enclosures. This is one of the main processes of sheet metal manufacturing. Multiple bends on a single metal part, to create 3D shapes like a ladder, a cover, and box enclosures. The part of the size range from small 5mm up to 2800mm.

Sheet Metal Prototyping
In the early stage, requesting 1–20 metal parts is used as a prototype to test the design or trial assembly. 5–8 days fast production time, quickly validate results, and evaluate projects. Using the same materials as the final production, the prototype has the same appearance and properties.

Low-Volume Sheet Metal
Batch production without the stamping tool. The sheet metal manufacturing parts are suitable for direct use as finished products. 2-4 weeks leading time.Ideal for 50–10,000 pieces projects, where without tooling investment, and expect to keep parts quality are consistent.

Frequently Asked Questions about Sheet Metal Fabrication
What file formats do you accept for quoting sheet metal parts?
DWG, DXF, PDF, STEP, and any 2D/3D formats. Our team reviews your drawings, and the quote will be sent to you within 24 hours. For complex sheet metal, up to 48 hours.
I don't have a 3D file. Can you still help?
Yes. If you only have a sketch or ideas, our engineers can help create or finish the design of the drawing. If you only have a sample in hand, just ship it to us, and we will manufacture it 1:1.
What kind of surface finishes for sheet metal fabrication do you provide?
Anodizing, powder coating, painting, electroplating, brushing, sandblasting, laser engraving, polishing, and silk screening. We’ll recommend the best option if you don’t know which to choose.
Can you accept inserting fasteners into sheet metal parts?
Yes. We offer PEM self-clinching hardware insertion, including nuts, studs, standoffs, and riveting. All fasteners are press-fitted during production. A smooth install and durable. If you’re unsure which fastener is the best for your design, send us your file, and we’ll recommend the right one.
Do you offer assembly services, including electronic components?
Yes. We assemble not only sheet metal parts, but also internal electronic components, such as wiring, PCBs, connectors, and more. Parts ship fully assembled for end-customers to use directly.
What's the best way to reduce sheet metal part cost?
Upload your file, and our engineer will review it and give solutions for free. Usually, we suggest small design adjustments or an alternative plan. Reduce production costs without affecting the function.
Can sheet metal parts be used with other manufacturing processes?
Yes. At Xinprototype, sheet metal parts are often combined with CNC machining parts to save cost and achieve tight tolerances in key positions. And for the vacuum casting process, sheet metal part inserts can be permanently embedded into silicone molds to create over-molded parts.
